TRENT BOWLER LLB (HONS), BCOM

“I’ve been here since 2013 and now run the litigation team together with my good friend Luke Meys. I work in commercial litigation, general commercial, and property. At one point I took a break from the law to travel the world and do something romantic like becoming a yogi or dive instructor. But when I met the team at Neilsons I knew that wanted to be a lawyer again.

LUKE MEYS LLB, BA (POLS)

I’ve been at Neilsons since 2008, working in general commercial and civil litigation. Any employment and criminal law cases also generally come to me. I chose law because I love using logic to persuade someone my client’s argument is right. I enjoy learning about clients’ lives and how businesses operate so I can be an advocate for them. It feels really good when you win; there’s nothing else quite like it. A good litigator takes things a little bit personally. It makes you try harder.

BRIAN HILL LLB (HONS)

I’ve been working in the law since 1975. I practice property and commercial law, estate administration, wills and trusts, and relationship property. My influence in choosing law was my grandfather who was a senior Crown Counsel for the Australian Government. He was the epitome of an honest and upright lawyer.

DEREK RAILEY LLB

I was admitted to the bar in 1973 and I’ve been working in the law for 42 years. I’m a dying breed, a general practitioner. A lot of our clients here are from that time, or their children and grandchildren are. I think four generations of clients says something about a firm.

NICK PALMER LLB, BMS

I’ve been here since 2005 and I specialise in property and commercial law. I see the law as the glue that binds society together and prevents everything from turning to chaos. I started out in litigation and migrated to the other side of the firm over time.

I work in the property team and do some work in general practice where I’m needed. I think it’s important to be a well rounded solicitor, so you can assess your client’s situation from all angles. It’s awesome working here, Neilsons has a great team with an amazing amount of experience.

SUSANNAH KEITH LLB, BA

ASSOCIATE

Susannah works in the Neilsons’ Family Law team. She specialises in all aspects of relationship property and care of children. She can assist with agreements relating to these areas, and also regularly appears in Court where agreement cannot be reached. She can obtain urgent orders including protection and occupation orders under the Domestic Violence Act.

Susannah studied at Victoria University where she completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Music). She has studied and worked in the US and UK. When Susannah is not at work she enjoys spending time with her two primary school aged boys.
